Facts of Te Tiriti O Te Waitangi

we were learning about waitangi day
I enjoyed learning about my maori history
I found it challenging to but the fact in to my words because
next time i would change the order because i want to have them in order


1. In 7169 captain hook came to New Zealand

2. In 1831 thirteen maori chiefs had written to the king of england

3. The king of england sent james busby to represent New Zealand

4. In britain people had an interest in New Zealand and wanted to have a home there

5. Hobson told the chiefs to sign te tiriti cause more pakeha  were coming

6. Not all the iui got to see te tiriti and some chiefs did not sign it

7. The next 7 months five hundred chiefs signed the treaty

8. Before 1840 all the land belonged to maori. Chiefs that signed te tiriti were told that or all of that would change

9. Maori and british had a fight and the New Zealand war went on till 1845 to 1872

10. Without land maoris found it difficult to feed their families and earn money
