Dear Norm,

Today I am writing to you because I want to Thank you for all your hard work. Thank you especially for the delicious food. I loved your Amazing meals, my favourite meal was spaghetti bolenas.

One of the highlights for me was the high ropes and the zipline. The high ropes were pushing me to my limits and I made it to the end. The zip line was tiring going up the stairs but it was really worth it when you went down.

So thank you for everything, thank you for letting us stay there and again, thank you for the terrific food. 

You are AWESOME.

All Souls Day

Today I made a flower using shapes.

I found it hard to make the flower petals because they had to look nice or else it would look out of place.

Next time I would try  to make a different flower.

I enjoyed makeing the flowers because it was a challenge.

Piano

 When you're  just a starter, piano is extremely nerve racking.

I was only 9 but I thought I was going to have a heart attack. I was waiting for so long for my name to be called out it felt like a thousand years. my parents on both sides of me telling me it will be ok. I listened to other people play piano and this one girl mucked up and people started to laugh. I was scared that would happen to me

As I thought about my songs they called out a bunch of name’s and one of them was mine. I walked up to the spott to wait, trying my hardest to look brave and not burst out in tears.

As the lady in charge called my number I tried to walk up and out a little smile. I sat one the seat, put my feet on  the pedals and put my fingers on the keyboard. My hands were shaking but it was like the rest of my body was paralysed. I hit the first note and all my nerves washed away like a flood demolishing a house. My songs were indian dance, Rororo your boat and lavender blue.

I was relieved after I’d finished. I got a badge and a certificate and I came first place. My mum and dad said they were so proud of me. I shouted I was terrified because when you're just a starter, piano is extremely nerve racking.

Today I was learning about how to link your first sentence to your last one.

I enjoyed writing about the time when I did piano.

I found it difficult to remember all the things that had happened.

Next time I would talk about what the judge said and write more about my songs.

Service

Today I was learning about service what it looks like, sounds and feels like.

I enjoyed creating the poster because i like to use colorful things.

I found it difficult to find a good quote because it has to make sense.

Next time I would make it not so cluttered. 

Mood Rings

 Mood rings react to the temperature. They were invented by two New Yorkers Joshua Reynolds and Maris Ambat they created mood rings in 1975. Mood rings featured fake gemstones that are usually made by glass or quartz. the glass or quartz stone were normally hollow shells filled with liquid crystals. There is a little bit of truth that they do react to you mood. The air temperature may have a bigger effect on the mood rings then the body temperature.

Giant Pandas

Giant Pandas

Giant pandas are a type of bear like a polar bear and others in the bear family. The scientific name is Ailuropoda melanoleuca. Pandas are closely  related to bears but however Red pandas are more related to racoons. Scientists have been in an argument for what pandas are more related to. Giant pandas are going endangered from habitat loss of bamboo.

Pandas are well known for their black and white stripes and bear-like body. They have another thumb on the wrist bone to hold bamboo and to give more support for climbing. They have powerful claws and a sharp bite like a grizzly bear. They also have a habit of sitting up like a human.

Most pandas live in the southern west of China. Pandas live in damp bamboo forests so that the bamboo that they eat is not too hard. They have been here for around 2 million years.

Pandas are very slow walkers so they are not very good hunters. Pandas are really good at swimming and climbing. Pandas are good swimmers because of their strong bulky body.

I think that we need to protect Giant pandas from endangerment because we have already lost heaps of animals by hunting them or polluting the water with plastic. I refuse to let this beautiful creature die.

Next time i would do no whiskers  because it looks more like a cat.

Wetapunga

Classification:

A wetapunga is an endangered insect that has been transferred to places in New Zealand. A weta can weigh up to three mice and a female weta can grow about the size of a sparrow. The Wetapunga is the heaviest of the eleven giant Weta species.

Description:

A Wetapunga has six legs, a large head, with no nose. But it has palps and palps are on the wetas jaw. They look like paddles.  The Weta has antena twice as long as it's body.

Location/habitat:

The Wetapunga has been here since the dinosaurs ages. They live in New Zealand but they are going extinct so some people are sending them to different islands to survive. The Wetapunga Has been sent to four island.

Dynamics:

The Wetapunga has massive droppings that fertilize the ground. The Weta is also nocturnal, so they sleep during the day and come out at night. Female Weta lay over 300 eggs.I think that we need to protect this special species so people after us can now how much they mean to the earth. I refuse to let the Wetapunga go extinct because they have been here since dinosaur ages. They can be here for much longer so we can not let them die now.

I enjoyed finding out more facts about cyclones because I did not know anything about cyclones.

I found it difficult to remember the facts about the cyclone in the article I was reading.

Next time I would try to make my voice more clear for the person listening to my video.

The most popular pets are cats and dogs. In America  almost 75 million families have a dog or cat and there are most dogs than cats

Our Matariki Breakfast

My nose tingle with excitement as I took a deep breath. I sprinted to my class room and thought to myself it's Matariki breakfast time. CARRECK! I opened the door and at the corner of my eye there was all my favourite things to have for breakfast. Hash browns, pancakes, fruit on a stick, donuts, red velvet cupcakes. It was like heaven. When the bell rang I quickly sat on the floor patiently waiting for the teacher to say we can go up and dig in. We had prayers first and After that Miss Hickling said that lady's first to go eat. Me and Tessa was so excited to get the hash browns we weren't even on the floor properly. I jumped up and and waited in line. GRRRR! My stomach was rumbling. "I am starving" I shouted in my head. But when it was my turn I snached a napkin and grabed hash browns and a pancake. I stuffed it in my mouth and the glossy maple syrup on the pancake malted down my throat leaving the taste in my mouth.  I saved the best for last, I saved the hash brown for last.  After that I had a red velvet cupcake and I was super lucky because it was the last one. "That did not last long" Arabella chukled. I squeezed my stomach. That was a bad idea.

I found it difficult to come up with some sentences that have the word in it.

Transubstantiation Meaning

What does transubstantiation mean?

Transubstantiation means when they bless the wine and bread it turns into the blood and the body of christ so then when your taking the sacrament your taking the blood and body of christ.

Today I was learning what transubstantiation means.

Today I was reading a book called the whale child. I enjoyed reading it. Next time I would add a background on my slides. I found it difficult to find the right words to say in the screencastify.

Looking through the window into my 2020 lockdown

CRASH! I could hear the waves pounding into each other. “The waves are rough today aye” said dad. It was weird not hearing cars pass by..
''EVA” shouted Matene. “Let’s go for a ride,”
I replied and said “Okay”.
.As Matene backs up the quad I ask my sisters if they want to go to the beach. Bonnie could not go because she had school work but Amy was free. The sun softly shone on our face as we drove through the peaceful village to the beach with my dog Bear. The water was absolutely amazing. It was crystal clear. The sky was clear blue. When we got there we dipped our feet and drove back and forth then we wanted to go home “Let’s go home,” Matene said.

When we got home Bonnie was making delicious moist cookies. They smelt like chocolate fresh out of the oven. Mum came down the hallway and said that it was my turn to make dinner. I went to the kitchen and brought out the pasta, the cheese and the meat. Cautiously I creeped on to the couch trying to watch Avengers infinity war. I sat on the couch for almost a minute but I had to go back to dinner. After Me and mum got dinner ready I called everyone to the lounge for prayers. “The spaghetti bolognese looks like a mountain” Amy Mentioned.

I sneaked to my room to grab monopoly. I held up the game and shouted “Who wants to play monopoly? I asked. We started to play and I had the second best monopoly piece which was the hat. But my brother had the best piece; it was the airplane. Mum and dad were tired so they went to bed but Bonnie, Amy, Matene and myself stayed up. We stopped the game after a few rounds because it was taking so long, and Bonnie was the winner.
Next minute mum walks in and my mum tells me that I am going back to school. I felt excited but nervous. I was up all night. Scared of what might happen at school but I couldn't wait to see my friends.

The dawn parade

 For Anzac day me and my family couldn't go to the dawn parade so we did our own.
Me and my family drawed soldiers on jars then put candles in them, I made a wreath and my sisters made poppies and flowers out of flax to go on it,
then we put all of the decorations on our gate. Some people played  the music with the trumpet on their phones. After that we all went back to sleep.

The Anzac Tree

phillip lives on a farm and has a dog named ship and a cat named toffee.

percy and rolok planted two trees before they went to war.

The mum started crying when percy did not come home and now the dad has to milk the cows alone.

Percy's tree died too.

Easter Isolation

Sunday
On Easter weekend me and my family had church at home. After church dad said we were going on an Easter hunt. But I thought that we ate all of the easter eggs the week before. Dad said that the Easter hunt was at the beach. so we got dressed and started walking. We stopped right before the beach. Turns out we were hunting for mushrooms. The mushrooms were protected by a field of prickles. It was a very bad time because all of the mushrooms were already picked and I had sandals on. So we came out with five or six mushrooms and prickles in my FEET! I don't even like mushrooms.
When we got home we had a packet of marshmallow easter eggs. So we hide them and had an easter hunt       
On Saturday we talked about the crucifiction of Jesus Christ. Then it was like any other day I guess.
Then on monday me and my sister Amy and my brother Matene went under our house to take all of the rubbish out from underneath it.

Easter Celebrations

In France they celebrate easter by making a huge omelette to feed thousands.  Its very different to how me and my family celebrate easter. some people in New Zealand hide easter eggs around there house for other people in there family to find. The easter eggs are normally filled with chocolate or candy. In france  they make an omelette out of the eeg but we get and egg from the store but that's some peoples tradition but others have really nice traditions 

The Ant And The Grasspoper

Winter was almost coming and ants  were gathering food while the grasshoppers were enjoying summer. the ants gave up their whole summer to give a to feed the colony. When Winter came grasshopper was banging on the on the colony house and saying let me I'll freeze to death. The ants said what do you have to offer for us and the Grasshopper said he will fix the roof if it's linking and serve food so the ants said that they will give Grasshopper a chance. when summer came the ants and everyone else was preparing for winter. This reminds me of the crucifiction of Jesus because like the ants and the Grasshopper Jesus had forgiven thomas for what he did.

I was learning how to make a stop motion film because it could be helpful in the future.
I enjoyed making the stop motion because i have never used stop motion before.
Next time i would change the background because i want the reader to like everything.
I found it challenging to make the video because we would do it but we would forget something.

Zealandia

was learning about Zealandia because we wanted to know what New Zealand was like.
I enjoyed finding out information about Zealandia because I was hoping to find out something like what a continent is.
next time i would change the font because I want the reader to like everything.
Found it challenging to remember the things about continents because when you write about continents there are a lot of things that make a continent a continent.
Is Zealandia a continent?

I wanted to tell you why I think that Zealandia is a continent.

First,  some scientists do believe that there is an 8th continent called Zealandia. Over a million years ago Zealandia sank almost entirely underwater. 

 Secondly, In the depths of the earth there are tectonic plates that make the earth move and that's called an earthquake. But millions of years ago the plates moved so much that Zealandia started to get thinner. Lots of years past and Zealandia went almost entirely underwater but not all of it. 94% of Zealandia is still underneath the water. So that means that 6% of Zealandia is still above the sea.   

Lastly, by researching New Zealand was not always a country by itself. New Zealand was a part of Zealandia and so was New Caledonia. Zealandia must have been a really big country. Zealandia does have some or all of the things that make all of the other continents a continent. It has an oceanic crust around it,also continents have to have Igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic rock, they also have to have a crust that is thicker than oceanic crust but it has to be less dense. So I hope you are convinced that Zealandia is a continent because I am.

Writing Learning Pathway

I was learning about what we can do in writing, and what we can't do, because it's good to know what we have to get better at.
I enjoyed finding out what i can't do in writing because i like setting goals to stick to so then i know what my goal is.
I found it challenging to find the right background because if it was not the right background then the reader would not be able to read the words.
Next time i would change the colour of the font because I want it to be really easy to read.

Saint Patrick's Day

We were learning about saint patrick's day because he is one of our schools saints

I enjoyed finding facts about him because i have been wanting to find out a little more about saint patrick. 

I found it challenging to find the right colour of the words because if it was not a good colour it would be hard for the reader to read it.

Goal Settings

I was learning about how to stick with a goal because we want to be successful in goals.
I enjoyed finding out more things about the people on the Horouta because i was hoping to find out what  were their positions were on the boat .
I found it challenging to fill in were it says whanau can support you by because i did not know what to write.
Next time i would change the fount because i what the reader to like everything even the fount.

Facts of Te Tiriti O Te Waitangi

we were learning about waitangi day
I enjoyed learning about my maori history
I found it challenging to but the fact in to my words because
next time i would change the order because i want to have them in order


1. In 7169 captain hook came to New Zealand

2. In 1831 thirteen maori chiefs had written to the king of england

3. The king of england sent james busby to represent New Zealand

4. In britain people had an interest in New Zealand and wanted to have a home there

5. Hobson told the chiefs to sign te tiriti cause more pakeha  were coming

6. Not all the iui got to see te tiriti and some chiefs did not sign it

7. The next 7 months five hundred chiefs signed the treaty

8. Before 1840 all the land belonged to maori. Chiefs that signed te tiriti were told that or all of that would change

9. Maori and british had a fight and the New Zealand war went on till 1845 to 1872

10. Without land maoris found it difficult to feed their families and earn money 

Swimming sports

We were learning about where to put exclamation marks because it will be useful in the future
I enjoyed writing the story because I like doing recants so i really enjoyed writing about swimming sports
I found it challenging to put it on my chromebook because if one word is out of place it does not look right
Next time i would change the font because it seems a bit boring and i want the reader to like it
 SPLASH! The first set of kids dived into the worm clear water. I am terrified. There's a billion butterflies in my stomach. I said holding onto my tummy. Cousinly I walked up to the silver slippery starting block and waited for Mrs Aparamama to blow the whistle. Ready! Go! BEEP! I jumped in the water. I gasped for air. My goggles were fogey but I got a glance of the kids in front of me. “I got third place  '' I said with excitement. Mr H came around with a A white board. It said butterfly competitive swimmers. I better not do it. I'm terrible at butterfly I said to myself.backstroke competitive. Mr H shouted. The noise from the kids made me not here Mr H. BEEP! SLASH! I was so nervous to get back into the water to do backstroke. I waited in line for my turn. I jumped into the water and when the  whistle blew I took off and got second place. What does it say I shouted to Eva C and Azrael. they replied saying it said competitive breaststroke so I started walking over to the starting block and divide in. SPLASH! This time two kids were in front of me and I came third place and ruby, Morgan and Ciara did the relay race for yellow house. And after the relay guess what house won. Morgan,Ruby and Ciara won for the yellow house! YAY!

Ash wednesday

I was learning about what ash wednesday is because me and class don't know that much about it   
I enjoyed taking the picture because  now whenever I go on my blog I know thats what Im going to do and not do for lent
I found it challenging to find the background because if the background does not suit the picture it doesn't look right
Next time i would change the background because it is not as much reladid to the picture as much as i hoped it would be

Waste free wednesday

We were learning about waste free wednesday because we have to know what things to bring in our lunchbox
I enjoyed finding out more things about why my school does waste free wednesday because now i am trying to bring reusable lunches
I found it challenging to find the right shapes because it does not look right if there in the wrong shape
Next time i would change the font because it seems a bit boring and i want it to be interesting for the reader   

Bear

“AWW they're so cute” Matene said in a high pitched puppy voice . Me and my brother were looking around and saw this one pup “those pups have big poops”
“NO that's not a poop thats a puppy” I shouted. Later that day dad said to come inside because we were going to have a family meeting. During the meeting i was ignoring what he was saying until he said puppys.i was hooked. It was like i was a fish and i got stuck on a hook. ZOOM me and my brother were sprinting to my neighbor's house.
“Which one” I said to myself.there was this one puppy that was sleeping. Get them of me Matene yelled. The puppies were nibbling on Matenes hoodie. It was adorable. All the pups left except this one fluffy pup. So we took him home and named him Bear. I felt like the luckiest girl in the world . He had bright vibrant blue eyes and chocolate brown fur
“You're the best dog in the world Bear” I whispered.


We were learning about were to use adjectives and verbs because it will be useful in the future
I enjoyed writer about the moment that i got my dog because i love my puppy bear  and it was really nice writing about it
I found it challenging to remember the whole story because it was a really long time ago
Next time i would change the fount because it seem a bit boring and i want it to be interesting for the reader

Sharks

We were learning about sea creatures because it was a reading activity
I enjoyed learning about the way sharks because it was a really great experience
I found it challenging to write in  my own words because i didn't know what to say
Next time i would change the topic because i think that shark people all ready know heaps about them

Summer Holidays

I was learning about how to make one link go to another slide because we were doing a true on false recant writing
i enjoyed finding the images for the background because you get to go on gradient and find it on the internet
I found it challenging to find the right colour for the words because it needs to be easy for the reader to read it
i would change the firsts slides background because it does not make the words pop out

Room two five guiding principles

we will learn about our school's 5 guiding principles because we need to respect our environment, ourselves and others

i found it difficult to get the right shape of the paddle because we need to get the writing in it 

I enjoy creating  the five guiding principles post because I got to use gradient and my imagination

next time i would change the boat because it does not look as much like a waka as i wanted it to

I found it difficult to find the shapes to make the person because you need to find right shapes and put it in the right places
